This Easter the estate will be be full to bursting with enticing, and we have a whole host of activities to make your family time this school holiday full of new discoveries and adventures.

Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt

From 25 to 28 March we invite you to our annual Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt. Bunny has been spotted hopping along the garden paths looking for the perfect spot to hide some of his Cadbury chocolate. Luckily, Bunny has left some clues to point you in the right direction…  Can you follow his trail of giant eggs to find a yummy choccy at the end before his bunny friends do?

You and the whole family will have to navigate past the ducks and geese in the Water Garden, skirt round the giant fountain, pass thousands of sweet-scented hyacinths and traverse daffodil-lined paths to claim your tasty prize. The Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt will be on from 10am until 4pm (last hunt started at 3.30pm) Friday to Monday over Easter weekend and costs £3 per child plus normal admission charges.

Please note: unfortunately the normal entry prices on the Cadbury's website above are incorrect. The entry prices from Feb 2016 are Adult £11 (Gift Aid)/£10 (Standard), Child £5.50 (Gift Aid)/£5.00 (Standard), Family £27.50 (Gift Aid)/£25.00 (Standard).

Membership opportunity over Easter Weekend

If on your arrival at Cliveden you sign up to become a member of the National Trust by direct debit over Easter Weekend (Good Friday to Easter Monday inclusive) the children in your family, be they yours or indeed grandchildren, can take part in the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt for free. You will be given a ticket when you sign up at the main gate or Information Centre.

Wild Wednesdays

Our popular Wild Wednesdays return for this Easter with the first session on Wednesday 30 March all about planting, growing and eating your own food. Discover some of the edible plants at in our gardens before you sow your own runner bean seed to take home. There’ll be plenty of tips from our gardeners on how to look after the seeds and hopefully a week or so later your children will be able to watch them grow on their windowsill.

The following week, on Wednesday 6 April, children will discover the colours of Cliveden. Follow a trail to look for a rainbow in the spring blooms and make your own paper flower to take home and decorate your room with.

Each Wild Wednesday session costs £2 per child plus usual admission charges. Drop in any time from 11am until 2.30pm – there’s no need to book in advance.  

Tree Climbing

For your more adventurous family members the Big Tree Climbing Company are running harnessed Tree Climbing on 31 March and 1 April from 10.30am-5pm. Ever wondered what it is like to be high up in the tree tops? Now's your chance to explore a whole new side of Cliveden’s woodlands. As well as using ropes and harnesses to climb up into the trees, there’ll be a zip wire and rope swing for you to play on. These sessions must be booked in advance and cost £18.50 per hour session.

Even more ideas

A day out at in our gardens and woodlands is a firm favourite with many families thanks to the combination of glorious colour-filled gardens and features such as the storybook themed play area and giant Cliveden maze which have been designed especially with little ones in mind. By the end of March thousands of powerfully scented hyacinths will be filling the Long Garden to bursting whilst daffodils create a golden carpet on Stable Bank. Blossom and magnolia blooms decorate the Water Garden meaning that every corner of the estate has a treasure to discover with the family this Easter holiday.
