Wonderful Wisteria

Sometimes we spend the majority of the year anticipating the flowering of a particular tree or shrub. Then, in no time at all, the show is over. Today's update falls into that category. In the Long Garden, against the south facing wall, you'll see a dazzlement of mauve wisteria, extending both sides of the stone bench. See this wonderful Spring highlight whilst you can.

A princess visits Cliveden

By the Information Kiosk, in the Walled Garden car park, be dazzled by 1,000 ‘Prinses Irene’ tulips, hand planted by volunteers in 2016. Rumour has it these tulips were named after a Dutch princess when introduced in 1949. This springtime flower has lovely orange petals, slightly tinged with purple. Their short stems make them an ideal candidate for pots and containers.
