50 things to do before you're 11 3/4 at Cragside
Adventure Scrapbooks at the ready? See how many 50 things activities you can tick off this winter. There's loads to do at Cragside, but here are some of our favourites:
No. 12 Make a trail with sticks
Visit the Labyrinth and make a trail with sticks to help you find your way out again.
No. 15 Play in the snow
The grassy area by Tumbleton Lake is perfect for making snow angels and snowmen! Afterwards, warm up frozen hands with a hot chocolate in the tea-rooms, which is only a short walk away.
No. 19 Play pooh sticks
Debdon Burn in the Pinetum is the perfect place to play pooh sticks. Just head to a bridge, pick your sticks and start your race!
No. 27 Go stargazing
Book onto our stargazing event on Saturday 10 February. Suitable for children aged 6 and over, enjoy a warming bowl of soup before heading outdoors to explore the night sky with expert astronomers. Booking essential, click here to book
No. 29 Explore a cave
There are so many nooks and crannies made out of rock formations by Slipper Lake. They're pretty much Cragside's version of caves, and are perfect to explore whilst you're on an adventure around the estate.
No. 34 Track wild animals
Did you know that animals such as red squirrels and deer live at Cragside? Walk through the woodland and see if you can track their paw prints.
No. 36 Make a home for a wild animal
Lots of animals hibernate (go to sleep) over the cold winter. Make them a safe, cosy home in the woodland using sticks and other materials you can find on the ground.
No. 44 Go bird watching
The wildlife hide by the Formal Garden is the perfect quiet place to spot birds. Grab a pair of binoculars and see which of our feathered friends you find.
