50 things to do before you're 11 3/4 at Cragside
Adventure Scrapbooks at the ready? See how many 50 things activities you can tick off this spring. There's loads to do at Cragside, but here are some of our favourites:
No. 4 Build a den
The den building area by the adventure play area is the perfect spot to build a den.
No. 6 Run around in the rain
Embrace the April showers and stomp around in the rain and mud in your wellies!
No. 12 Make a trail with sticks
Visit the Labyrinth and make a trail with sticks to help you find your way out again.
No. 19 Play pooh sticks
Debdon Burn in the Pinetum is the perfect place to play pooh sticks. Just head to a bridge, pick your sticks and start your race!
No. 24 Go on a walk barefoot
The barefoot walk by the adventure play area is a special-made trail for shoe-less feet! Just remember to bring a towel to dry them off
No. 29 Explore a cave
There are so many nooks and crannies made out of rock formations by Slipper Lake. They're pretty much Cragside's version of caves, and are perfect to explore whilst you're on an adventure around the estate.
No. 34 Track wild animals
Did you know that animals such as red squirrels and deer live at Cragside? Walk through the woodland and see if you can track their paw prints.
No. 36 Make a home for a wild animal
The weather is warming up and animals are coming out of hibernation. Make them a safe, cosy home in the woodland using sticks and other materials you can find on the ground.
No. 44 Go bird watching
The wildlife hide by the Formal Garden is the perfect quiet place to spot birds. Grab a pair of binoculars and see which of our feathered friends you find.
No. 50 Canoe down a river
Well, it's not a river, but you can kayak and canoe on Tumbleton lake every Thursday - Sunday from 30 March. Book here
