Treat yourself in the Tea Rooms
The Visitor Centre, in the old stable block overlooking Tumbleton Lake, is open from 10am and is where you'll find our licensed tea-rooms and shop. The tea-rooms use locally grown and seasonal produce and are open for morning coffee, light snacks and afternoon tea.
Treat yourself at Cragside
Here at Cragside we love to use fresh, seasonal produce to produce a whole range of meals, snacks and tasty treats from the Tea Rooms.
Not to be missed:
Mussels, oysters, seabass, partridge, grouse, venison, beetroot, swede, celery, parsnips, celeriac, cabbages, carrots, celery, leeks, butternut squash, pumpkin, apples, pears, cobnuts, hazelnuts, blackberries, sloes, elderberries.
Do not waste your pumpkin seeds. Give them a good wash to remove all of the stringy flesh, and make sure you dry them completely. Toss in a teaspoon of olive oil, sprinkle with salt and roast in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 140C/Gas mark 1. These can be sprinkled on soup as a garnish, added to muesli or flapjacks, added to salads for a nutty crunch or simply as a snack on their own.
