Sudbury Hall's Coach House tea-room

a cake

Make the most of your day at Sudbury Hall and the Museum of Childhood and have morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea all in one place. The hardest thing is deciding which of the tasty cakes to choose from.

Our food

The Coach House Tea-room is proud to serve a seasonal menu, using local and fair-trade products wherever possible. Our cakes are baked fresh in our kitchen using special National Trust recipes, and yes we do have to test them.

Please note that our menus do alter throughout the season depending on seasonal ingredients!

Lunches

Treat yourself to a cooked lunch from our daily special’s menu. Try our pepper, tomato and cheese quiche, made with a sweet potato crust or our sundried tomato and basil sausage rolls.

For something lighter choose from our range of bloomer sandwiches, all freshly prepared on site.

Children's menu

Our younger visitors can tuck into the children's menu with mini versions of our main meals.

If the weather’s good then children can pick and choose from a range of items to fill their own lunch bag and enjoy a picnic outside.

Tasty treats

For your afternoon tea try one of our delicious scones baked on site; there's plenty of cream and lots of flavours of jam to choose from.

We always have a range of cakes to tempt you throughout the day. Choose from one of our traditional favourites like Victoria sponge, chocolate and coffee cake, or local recipes like Ashbourne ginger cake and Bakewell slices.
