Sudbury Hall's Coach House tea-room

Scones with clotted cream and jam

Get your day out at Sudbury Hall off to a flying start with a morning coffee and a hot breakfast bap, or perhaps stay for lunch and a spot of afternoon tea. The hardest thing is deciding which of the freshly baked cakes to choose from.

Something for everyone

The Coach House tea-room is proud to serve a seasonal menu. We are also pleased to work with the Soil Association and currently hold a bronze certification. Our cakes are baked fresh in our kitchen using special National Trust recipes, and yes, we do have to test them! No two days are the same on our cake counter and we've always got a great selection of cakes, biscuits or flapjacks available. Ask our tea-room staff to see what cakes contain gluten free ingredients as well as for any allergen information you may need.

Light bites and sandwiches

If you're looking for something lighter then choose from our range of bloomer sandwiches, all freshly prepared on site. From traditional sarnie favourites, to some more adventurous combinations, there's something for everyone.

Cream teas and bubbly treats

New on the menu is our extra special Prosecco cream tea. Not only do you get a lovely fruit scone with cream, jam and a pot of tea, but also a little tipple of Prosecco. Great for a celebration... or just because you fancy it - why not?

Hot dinners, salads or soup of the day

If you're feeling peckish, why not treat yourself to a cooked lunch from our daily specials menu? Try our freshly made soups, jacket potatoes, seasonal salads or something from our specials board. You might find a hearty hot pot or casserole takes your fancy. Please note that our menu changes regularly, but you'll always find something tasty.

Children's menu

Our younger visitors can tuck into the child friendly options. If the weather’s good then children can pick and choose from a range of items to fill their own lunch bag and enjoy a picnic outside.

Sunny days... and the not so sunny days

On sunny days and during busy periods you'll find our ice cream cart in the stable yard for all your soft drink and ice cream needs. But don't worry, if our ice cream team aren't out, you can still find frozen goodies in the tea-room.

We have both indoor and outdoor seating available for tea-room customers. On sunny days enjoy the buzz of the stable yard on one of our outdoor tables. On cooler or rainy days there is plenty of indoor tables on the ground floor and upstairs in the tea-room. Our tea-room is wheelchair accessible, so long as you don't mind a slightly bumpy ride over some flat set cobbles and small gravelled area, you're good to go.

Seating in the tea-room and on the cobbled area outside is reserved for tea-room customers only, but don't worry there are other great spots to picnic. We want to keep Sudbury looking at its best so we kindly ask that you take any leftover picnic items or rubbish home with you.
