Cycling at Formby

Family cycling at Formby

Cycling is a great way to get to Formby particularly in hot weather when there can be very long queues of traffic to get onto site.

Cycling is allowed on the beach and along both of the roads that go through the site. We have one cycle friendly path that can be accessed via our dune car park or from Blundell Avenue and passes behind the sand dunes to National Trust Formby's Lifeboat Road car park. This cycle path is part of the 5 mile circular Asparagus cycle route which takes in Formby village. Leaflets of this route are available at our entrance kiosk.

Due to the fragile nature of the landscape we ask that cyclists keep to the designated cycle path, tarmacked roads or beach only. Cycle racks are available next to our entrance kiosk, make sure you pick up a map or cycle route leaflet whilst you are there so you don't get lost!
