Listen to our new spring audio walk and experience the colours, sights and sounds of Formby's wildlife from home.

Everyone needs nature and the calm it brings. We're delighted to share our new spring audio walk to help bring the joy of nature into your home. All you need to do is sit back, relax and immerse yourself in this enchanting audio experience from the comfort of your own sofa.

Join ranger Chris as he walks and describes what he can see, hear, smell and experience. During this virtual visit you'll hear a wonderful "Dawn Chorus" of bird song, along with vivid descriptions that bring to life the sights and sounds of nature during an early morning walk through Formby's woodlands. Chris also shares some interesting facts about Formby’s precious wildlife and landscape along the way.

Having previously worked for the charity Open Country and seeing how popular their  lockdown audio walks have been, Chris was inspired to create a series of virtual visits to Formby.

Open Country help people with disabilities to access and enjoy the countryside. Though based in North Yorkshire, their Lancashire Countryside Directory lists many wonderful countryside spots in the North-west to visit (once Covid-19 restrictions allow), along with their disabled access facilities. All available to download or print from their website for free. They also have a selection of lockdown audio walks. Visit www.opencountry.org.uk
