Sensory Trail Workshop at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden

A wonderful workshop for Early Years and KS1, using all the senses to discover this beautiful site

Explore the estate using each of your senses in turn. Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal is the perfect place to let your class discover more about their senses. In small guided groups, your class will explore the estate by:

  • Touching the cold stone of the abbey ruins
  • Creating sound maps of the crashing and swishing of the River Skell
  • Bark rubbing on our ancient trees
  • Sniffing and sampling the herbs in the delightful herb garden
  • Collecting the colours of the rainbow to take back to school

Suitable for Early Years and KS1

Approx 2 hours long, guided

£2.50 per student, accompanying adults free. Admission charges also apply, however if your school has Education Group Membership admission is free. Please get in touch for more details.
