Travelling to Greenway

There are a few different ways to travel with your group to Greenway.

By coach

It's important to note that full-sized coaches cannot access Greenway, but midi-coaches which seat up to 35 people can be accommodated when booked in advance.

By ferry

The Greenway Ferry Company operate services to Greenway from Dartmouth. Full sized coaches can be parked in Dartmouth, and groups transported to Greenway by ferry. Your ferry booking will need to be made directly with the Greenway Ferry Company; call 01803 882811 to arrange this.

From Greenway Quay there is a 10 minute woodland walk to Greenway Visitor Reception. The walk is steep in places, but there are benches along the route so you can take a break. If members of your group are unable to walk to Visitor Reception, we are happy to be able to offer the service of a car which meets the ferries and will shuttle those who are most in need of assistance.

By steam train

The Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boat Company operate a steam train from Paignton and Kingswear to Greenway Halt. From the Halt, catch the bus connection which drops off at the top of Greenway drive, or take the 30 minute woodland walk to Greenway, which is steep in places and walking boots are a must. Your booking for the steam train will need to be booked directly with the Steam Railway Company; call 01803 555872 to arrange this.

Bring a school or educational group

Creative writing, outdoor activities, family learning; these are a few of the learning opportunities provided for school and community groups. Education group members have free entry with an Educational Group Membership.
