Bring your dog

A dog with his owners in the garden of Greenway, Devon

Dogs on short-leads are welcome in the gardens at Greenway; Agatha Christie and her family were big dog lovers, and so are the team of staff and volunteers now.

Four-legged friendly

With woodland and walled gardens to explore with your four-legged friends, Greenway is a very dog-friendly place to visit. You are welcome to walk your dogs throughout garden; please remeber to stick to the paths and keep your dogs on short leads at all times. We want to make sure you and your four-legged friends have a great time at Greenway, whilst we also maintain the health of our plants. If dogs were to run into the flower beds, plant diseases could very easily be spread.

After a nice long walk around Greenway garden why not rest and enjoy the view?

Put your paws up

Although dogs can't go into the house, there is still plenty to keep them entertained. The Visitor Reception team always have a warm welcome and a dog treat waiting, and in the courtyard there are water bowls and tethering rings. There is plenty of seating outside the Barn Gallery Café, much of which is under cover, so come rain or shine you and your pooch can enjoy lunch together, and well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the Café.

Let's go walkies

If you're looking for a stroll in the garden, there's a moderate one-mile walk that enjoys spectacular views over Dartmouth, or just follow your feet and explore. For a lengthier dog walk, why not combine your exploration of the garden with a local walk? Scroll down the page to take a look at some walking trails. Please remember to pick up any mess your dog makes and dispose of it in the bins provided.
