Do I need to pre-book?
All groups need to pre-book their visit to Hanbury Hall; if you haven’t pre-booked, then you may be asked to pay full admission prices. For any visit where a workshop is required, please ensure that you book at least 4 weeks in advance.
When can our group visit?
Taught programmes are available every Tuesday and Thursday morning during term time. However please note that our outdoor workshops are seasonal and only available between March-October.
Self-led visits to the gardens and parkland can be made any time throughout the year. Access to the house must be arranged in advance with our learning team.
Schools usually arrive at 10.15 and leave around 2.30. Workshops will take place in the morning between 10.30-12.30, followed by an afternoon of self-led activities in the garden and park.
How much does it cost to visit?
The cost of an educational visit can be split into the admission charge and workshop price.
Admission to Hanbury Hall is charged per child (£4 per child), or covered by National Trust Education Group Membership (EGM).
Taught workshops cost £3.50 per pupil, on top of the standard admission rate or EGM.
For our indoor workshops we have space for groups of up to 40 pupils per day. Our outdoor workshops can accomodate up to 60 pupils per day.
When you are with us, all activities will be led by members of our experienced learning team; please note however that the behaviour of the students remains your responsibility at all times.
Special educational needs and access
Please let us know if any of your group has any physical or learning difficulties; this helps us provide the best support for your visit, especially where tours and activities may need to be adapted.
How long are the tours and workshops?
Workshops last 2 hours, with a short break mid-morning. They usually begin at 10.30 and finish at 12.30 in time for lunch.
Is there undercover lunching?
We have enough undercover lunch space for 30 pupils. Groups of 60 will need to split lunch breaks in to two sessions.
