Volunteer at Hanbury Hall
From helping to maintain our beautiful formal gardens to bringing the house to life for our visitors as they discover more about Hanbury's past, there's a lot to get involved in.
Why get involved?
Most of our volunteer roles are visitor-facing; welcoming people to our places and making sure they have the best visit possible:
- Be part of a team
- Make friends
- Share skills and gain new ones
- Improve job prospects
- Have fun!
We also have summer and Christmas parties to say thank you to our volunteers for all the hard work they do. You can also join the volunteers club which arranges summer outings and holds monthly talks and lectures during the winter.
Am I suitable?
You don't need any qualifications or specific experience, you just need to be friendly and enjoy meeting all kinds of people. Training is provided and you’ll have a buddy to help you find your feet.
If only these walls could talk! That’s why our volunteer Room Guides make such a difference. They’re passionate about family stories, art and interiors, and love making people feel at home. We're particularly looking for volunteers to help in the house at weekends from March to October.
Tea Room Assistant
Imagine a world without cakes! Tea Room Assistants understand the importance of a little sit-down, and help visitors to relax, refuel and refresh during their visit to Hanbury Hall.
Raffle Ticket Seller
Are you a natural at sales, or someone who loves meeting new people? Our raffle ticket sellers are great at encouraging visitors to help, which boosts our funds so we can do more good work, and deliver more projects at Hanbury Hall.
Visitor Reception Assistant
Roll out the red carpet! We need to give a warm welcome, as well as any important information visitors will need to get the most out of their day. Reception volunteers are multi-tasking superstars who can brighten up even the rainiest day. We need your help particularly on Tuesday mornings.
