Volunteer at Hanbury Hall

A group of garden volunteers are in the parterre garden weeding with the house in the background

Have you ever thought about volunteering? At Hanbury Hall we've got some great volunteering opportunities.

From helping to maintain our beautiful formal gardens to bringing the house to life for our visitors as they discover more about Hanbury's past, there's a lot to get involved in.

Why get involved?

Most of our volunteer roles are visitor-facing; welcoming people to our places and making sure they have a good time:

  •     Be part of a team
  •     Make friends
  •     Share skills, gain new ones
  •     Improve job prospects
  •     Have fun

Am I suitable?

You don't need any qualifications or specific experience, you just need to be friendly and enjoy meeting all kinds of people. Training is provided and you’ll have a buddy to help you find your feet.

Great social events

We have summer and Christmas parties to say thank you to our volunteers for all the hard work they do. You can also join the volunteers club which arranges a summer outing and holds monthly meetings during the winter.

Room and tour guides

We're looking for volunteers to help in the house at weekends. We need people to lead tours of part of the house in the morning. And then in the afternoon we need volunteers in the rooms to help visitors discover more about the history and stories of the family.

Become part of the gardening team helping to maintain the stunning formal gardens and opening up the walled garden to visitors. We need your help particularly on the weekends.

Meeter Greeters

We're looking for volunteers to help welcome our visitors, advising them of what's available here and helping to tailor their day to their individual needs.
