Volunteer at Hanbury

Interested in volunteering at Hanbury Hall?

From bringing the house to life for our visitors as they discover more about Hanbury's past to promoting our raffle raising money for our wall paintings, there's a lot to get involved in as a volunteer.

Why get involved?

From bringing the house to life for our visitors as they discover more about Hanbury's past to promoting our raffle raising money for our wall paintings, there's a lot to get involved in as a volunteer.

Most of our volunteer roles are visitor-facing; welcoming people to our places and making sure they have the best visit possible:

  •     Be part of a team

  •     Make friends

  •     Share skills and gain new ones

  •     Improve job prospects

  •     Have fun!

We also have summer and Christmas parties to say thank you to our volunteers for all the hard work they do. You can also join the Volunteers Club which arranges summer outings and holds monthly talks and lectures during the winter.

Help our visitors to relax, refuel and refresh during their visit.

Am I suitable?

You don't need any qualifications or specific experience, you just need to be friendly and enjoy meeting all kinds of people. Training is provided and you’ll have a buddy to help you find your feet. Some of the roles we're currently looking for include:

Room Guide

If only these walls could talk! That’s why our volunteer Room Guides make such a difference. They’re passionate about family stories, art and interiors, and love making people feel at home. We're particularly looking for volunteers to help in the house at weekends.

Tea Room Assistant

Imagine a world without cakes! Tea Room Assistants understand the importance of a little sit-down, and help visitors to relax, refuel and refresh during their visit to Hanbury Hall.

Raffle Ticket Seller

Are you a natural at sales, or someone who loves meeting new people? Our raffle ticket sellers are great at encouraging visitors to help, which boosts our funds so we can do more good work, and deliver more projects at Hanbury Hall.

Piano Player

Can you play a good tune? Volunteer Piano Players help bring Hanbury Hall to life by playing our Broadwood grand pianoforte or Samuel Green organ in the house.
