Summer in the café

From pot to plate at Hinton Ampner

Our café is the perfect place to re-energize on your visit. Opening at 10am daily and serving hot food until 2.30pm, there's seating indoors and outside.

Housed in one of the oldest buildings on the Hinton estate, our café was formerly a stable.  Over the years it has had various uses including being the village Social Club. Historically a hub of activity, our café is no different today.

Breakfast

If you are up early and fancy a spot of breakfast with us we offer tasty treats such as sausage rolls, savoury scones and pastries and of course a classic bacon bap. Yours to enjoy every day from 10am – 12pm.

The savoury

Choose from a varied lunch offer including salads, soups hot jacket potatoes and our seasonal one pot. You'll also find freshly made sandwiches, made with locally sorced produce. Don’t forget to check the blackboard for specials.

The fully licensed café also sells a variety of local ales and a range of wines!

The sweet

Like any self-respecting National Trust cafe, we serve a selection of cakes, scones and bakes.

This season there's cherry and almond cake and our scrumptious lemon and poppy seed cake. We also serve Ralph's favourite afternoon snack, the Flapjack.

From plot to plate

With 70 percent of our food made on site with seasonal ingredients, our veg doesn’t have far to travel as it comes over from our Walled Garden.  Taken straight into our kitchen, delicious salads, soups and sandwiches are prepared onsite with our meat also being locally sourced.

Our chefs make all of our food fresh and also cater for gluten and dairy free visitors; just ask one of our café team members for more information.

Child-friendly options

For our younger diners, why not try one of our fun kids' pick and mix lunch boxes, full of tasty and balanced treats. Youngsters can make up their own packed lunch, choosing what they want from our range of sandwiches, drinks, fruit and snacks. On weekends and bank holidays, child sized hot meals are also available so all the family are catered for.
