Village Farmhouse is a handsome home from the 1700s, full of light and rich in historic details and with countryside views from many of the rooms. It has original wooden doors and floors, terracotta tiles, fireplaces and hidden paintings. Trees and acorns feature in the fabrics and artworks throughout the farmhouse, reflecting the interests of the family who built it as a practical and lasting home, full of craftsmanship.

The farmhouse is next to the main road in the centre of the village, and you can walk to the local pub. You can also head to the Dunham Massey estate on foot, for its vast parklands, pretty gardens and an ancient deer park, where herds of fallow deer roam freely. The Georgian house has an extensive collection of treasures and family-friendly activities. You’ll have free entry here and at all National Trust places during your stay.

The estate is lit up with a magical festive light trail from November to January - make sure to book this popular experience in advance.

The modern market town of Altrincham is nearby, with an award-winning food market, independent restaurants, pubs and shops. Manchester is just a 30-minute drive away, where there are plenty of places to eat and drink, plus shopping centres, theatres, cultural venues and the Castlefield Viaduct, a green ‘sky garden’ in the heart of the city. Liverpool, with its famous waterfront, is also within driving distance, where you can explore Speke Hall, a green oasis with a Tudor house on the edge of the city.

Lyme, famous for its reflecting lake where Mr Darcy met Miss Bennet in the BBC production of 'Pride and Prejudice', is about 45 minutes away by car.
