Perfect for a city break in the vibrant and historic city of York, Draper’s Flat sits above a National Trust shop (which was the original draper’s shop) in Minstergate. With all of York on your doorstep, the apartment makes a stylish base for exploring the city and further afield. You'll also have the opportunity to enjoy the gardens at nearby Treasurer's House during opening hours.

Ideal for families and couples exploring York’s buzzing cobbled streets and cultural attractions, you’ll find this delightful two bedroom apartment on the first floor of a beautiful half-timbered building in Minstergate, within the ancient walled centre. The apartment is accessed through a corridor which leads to the open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room, with lovely high ceilings and the original fireplace. With a contemporary feel throughout, you’ll love the soft furnishings, which take their inspiration from a previous occupant of the flat - George Hudson, the ‘king of the railways’, who lived here with his wife, the draper’s daughter. Both bedrooms have amazing Minster views, although you’ll find walking around York is pretty breathtaking as well.

You’ll be staying in the heart of one of Europe’s largest pedestrian zones, so you’re never more than a short walk away from one of York’s stunning sights or attractions when you stay at Draper’s. Explore the winding alleyways of this historic city, home to shops, cafes, restaurants, the Castle Museum, York Art Gallery and the Theatre Royal, or learn about the Vikings at Yorvik. Treasurer’s House, the first house ever given to the National Trust with a collection, and its award-winning garden is literally on your doorstep, and is perfect for an afternoon exploring.

As there’s so much to do in York itself, you’d be forgiven for not wanting to leave, but if you do escape the city, then the vibrant Yorkshire countryside is also great for unwinding with the gorgeous towns of Helmsley and Thirsk nearby. You’ll also find the tranquil and serene Fountains Abbey is only 45 minutes away by car, great if you’re looking for a break from the bustling city.
