A season for walking
As we welcome the new season, views change and the limestone hills offer fantastic walking routes.
This season take a walk through the woodlands as they change colour and take in far reaching views of the limestone hills across the White Peak.
Walk with us!
Join a free walk starting at Ilam Park at 11:00am every Monday and Friday morning. Our team of friendly volunteers will take you on a walk in the local area. No booking needed, just meet us by the visitor centre wearing suitable outdoor footwear and clothing. Dogs on short leads are welcome. Please note, walks can include mud, steps, stiles, hills and routes may cross fields with sheep or cattle.
Brew with a view at Ilam Park
The Manifold Tea-room has indoor and outdoor seating and is open daily, serving hot and cold lunches, cakes and drinks. Why not sit in the garden with a cream tea and take in the far reaching views towards Dovedale?
Spooky Trail at Ilam Park
The popular trail returns 22 - 30 October and offers families a fun self guided trail through the woods with fun challenges and a spooky biscuit at the end of the trail. No booking required, just pick up a trail map for £1 from the shop.
Cross the famous stepping stones in Dovedale
At this time of year the limestone valley is quieter and offers peaceful walks beside the River Dove. Look out for dipper, heron and moorhen on the river between the stepping stones and Milldale.
Dogs are welcome!
Dogs are always welcome at Ilam Park and Dovedale, all we ask is that they are kept on a lead to minimise disturbance to the sheep and cattle grazing the area. You'll find water bowls and parking posts for dogs by the toilets and the tea-room in Ilam Park.
