Jump into the New Year at Ilam Park

Woman and child walking in wintry trees

Whether you want to start a hobby, achieve a fitness goal or meet new people while enjoying the outdoors, there's plenty to see and do at Ilam Park this January and February.

Beat the post Christmas blues with a wintry trip to Ilam Park and discover new routes on one of our guided walks, challenge yourself with our all year round orienteering route or explore the landscape to find a new spot to spend quality time with your friends and family. Here's some ideas to get you started....

Family friendly walks

Ilam Park is an ideal place for a short walk with children, dogs and winter picnics. Many areas are grazed by farm animals so you may come across muddy paths during your walk. Don't forget to look out for wildlife, fossils and opportunities to play pooh sticks.  Families with younger children can pick up a free '50 Things to do before you're 113' wallchart from the shop or visitor centre at Ilam Park and see how many activities you can complete on your walk in the White Peak.

Refuel in our cosy tea-room

An ideal way to warm up and refuel after a winter walk is with a visit to the Manifold Tea-room at Ilam Park. Open daily 10.30am - 4pm during the winter season, you'll find a wide selection of cakes, hot drinks, hot lunches and snacks.

Join us for a walk

If you enjoy walking with others then join us on a Monday or Friday morning for a free walk in the limestone hills. A team of friendly volunteers will take you on a 2hr or 3hr walk, starting at 11:00am in the stableyard at Ilam Park. Dogs on leads are welcome to join in too. There is no need to book, just be ready with suitable footwear and warm clothing. In extremely bad weather the walks may be cancelled, so do give us a call before setting off to check that they are going ahead (01335 350503).
