Ilam Park is open daily through the winter and is an ideal spot for a family walk, a winter picnic and to enjoy the far reaching views of the limestone landscape.

This season you can enjoy peaceful walks, far reaching views and spot winter wildlife at Ilam Park. Dogs on leads are always welcome and the cosy tea-room serves a range of hot lunches, cakes and drinks.

Things to do this season at Ilam Park:

Choose your own Christmas tree
Buy a British sustainably grown Christmas tree at Ilam Park and your money will go towards caring for Ilam Park, Dovedale and the 12% of the Peak District National Park looked after by the National Trust. Tree sales take place at weekends in December at Ilam Park, 10am to 4pm. You'll find a range of tree types and sizes, potted and cut.

Go orienteering
Warm up with an outdoor challenge in Ilam Park this winter. Orienteering is a popular family activity and can be as competitive as you make it! Just pick up the map from the shop (£1.50) then see if you can find the marker points scattered across the parkland. Dogs on leads welcome to take part too.

Winter walks
There are endless options for walks in the area, with something for everyone. There is a 1 mile circular walk in Ilam Park which is ideal for families and dog walkers. If you would like to walk with others and explore more of the local area, join one of our free 'drop in' walks offered each Monday and Friday morning. The walks depart at 11.00am from the stableyard at Ilam Park and are led by a team of friendly volunteers. Dogs on leads are welcome to join in too.

Winter crafts for families
Drop in and make some festive crafts - ideal for families, these outdoor activities will get you into the festive spirit. Available 3, 10 and 17 December in the stableyard at Ilam Park, 11:00am to 2pm. No booking needed. There will be a small charge for some of the activities.

Festive food and gifts
The Manifold Tea-room at Ilam Park offers cosy indoor seating and outdoor seating with far reaching views towards Thorpe Cloud. Serving favourites including Derbyshire oatcakes, Derbyshire tealoaf and cream teas, the tea-room is an ideal place to stop after your winter stroll. Open daily through the winter (except 24 & 25 December).

The cosy shop in the stableblock at Ilam Park has festive gifts, cards, maps, toys and the popular wool blankets and also offers membership to the National Trust. Open daily through the winter (except 24 & 25 December).
