A warm welcome this winter season
Open daily throughout the winter, Ilam Park makes for a peaceful place, away from the hustle and bustle of Christmas, to create festive traditions with family and friends. From wintry walks, moments of calm to admire the far reaching views of the limestone landscape, our fun family trail or a tasty seasonal treat in the Manifold Tea-room - all are on offer.
Join in the festive fun with our Winter Wander Trail that begins on Saturday 30th November - Sunday 5th January. Discover wintry scenes as your explore the trail and see if you can spot some of Father Christmas' reindeer. Visitors can pick up a trail map from the shop for £1 and your furry four legged friends on a lead are welcome to join too. For more information please visit our What's On page.
There is a one-mile circular walk in Ilam Park which is ideal for families and dog walkers, as well as endless options for walks in the area. You can choose from a selection of walk routes on postcards from the shop for £1 if you'd like some ideas of where to go.
If you would like to walk with others and explore more of the local area, join one of our free 'drop in' walks offered each Monday and Friday morning. The walks depart at 11.00am from the stableyard at Ilam Park and are led by a team of friendly volunteers. Dogs on leads welcome.
Warm up with an outdoor challenge in Ilam Park this winter. Orienteering is a popular family activity and can be as competitive as you make it! Just pick up the map from the shop (£1.50) then see if you can find the marker points scattered across the parkland.
The Manifold Tearoom at Ilam Park offers indoor and outdoor seating with far reaching views towards Thorpe Cloud and blankets are available if you'd like to sit outside. Festive mince pies are freshly baked and the usual favourites are available, including Derbyshire oatcakes, Derbyshire tealoaf and cream teas. The tea room is open daily through the winter (except 24 & 25 December).
The shop in the stableblock at Ilam Park has festive gifts, cards, maps, toys and our popular wool blankets. National Trust membership can also be bought here, with Gift Membership available as a great Christmas present. There is also a second hand book shop in the stableyard visitor centre. Open daily through the winter (except 24 & 25 December). When you treat yourself or a loved one this festive season at Ilam Park, this helps us to look after the beautiful countryside, woodlands and wildlife in the White Peak for years to come.
From all the team in the White Peak, we would like to wish everyone all the best for this festive season.
