Christmas is a magical time of year at Knole for the whole family - this year more than ever as a very special tiger comes to tea. Expect sparkling Christmas trees, a roaring fire, wintry walks and plenty of shopping opportunities, all topped off by festive fare in the Brewhouse Café.

The Tiger Who Came to Tea at Knole 

Judith Kerr's much loved 1968 classic is coming to Knole this autumn, Sat 9 Nov - Sun 5 Jan 2020. Everyone will love our parkland trail, dressing up and interactive play - there's even a life size tiger to cuddle, plus displays of Judith Kerr's illustrations to delight all tiger-loving generations.

There is plenty of fun for the whole family at Knole this festive season. Visit The Tiger Who Came to Tea exhibition, book onto our family Stags & Stars ornament workshop, soak up the festive atmosphere and admire the sparkling Christmas trees in the Great Hall and Gatehouse Tower. Get some fresh air in the park by following our Tiger Who Came to Tea trail and pop into the Brewhouse Café for a warming drink and one of our very special mince pies.

Take an attic tour this Christmas 

The showrooms may be closed below, but you can still visit the attic rooms above by booking on one of our special tours. With their atmospheric spaces and tales of witch marks, graffiti and curiously sloped floors, a tour makes an ideal Christmas activity or special gift.

Mince pies

The Brewhouse Cafe at Christmas 

Warm up in the cosy Brewhouse Café decorated for Christmas. Enjoy warming soups, light lunches, and a delicious selection of cakes including our very special mince pies. The Brewhouse will be serving traditional Christmas lunches during the festive season with roast turkey and all the trimmings.

Christmas walks at Knole 

The winding paths through Knole’s ancient 1,000-acre parkland are perfect for festive walks, enjoying wintry vistas and watching Lord Sackville’s beautiful deer herd from a distance. This year our fun Christmas trail is themed around The Tiger Who Came to Tea exhibition (9 November – 5 January), allowing younger visitors to explore the park and help the tiger get ready for tea before claiming a cuddly toy prize.
