Help with family events

Volunteers help with family activities at Knole, Kent.

An important part of life at Knole is our programme of events for adults and children. With six centuries of history, there is an enormous amount to interest our visitors. Our volunteers love sharing their enthusiasm through trails, activities and demonstrations with families.

As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to join in with events and engage our visitors with what's on at Knole.

Our very popular family events mainly take place during the school holidays, particularly over Easter, in the summer and at Christmas. Most are run as individual one-day events, so you can offer as much or as little of your time as you like, although there are also longer trails taking place throughout the year.

A few of the activities we offer include:

  • Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt
  • Family trails in the showrooms
  • Park walks
  • Christmas deer trail
  • Arts and crafts activities
  • Tudor dressing up
  • Learning and craft workshops for adults
" Helping with the various summer activities at Knole and the outreach visits is very rewarding. The children respond well and enjoy themselves. Some families promise to return to Knole to see more. "
