Join us as a Visitor Welcome Volunteer

Our volunteers greet visitors in Screens Passage

This is an exciting time at Knole. With the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund, we will soon be opening new spaces to the public that will double the space currently on show and uncover some of Knole's precious secrets.

Over the next few years, we will open a Conservation Studio, a Learning Centre, the Gatehouse Tower and attic spaces. New visitor facilities will open too, such as the Brewhouse Café, which follows a new Visitor Centre and Bookshop Café opening earlier this year.

We are changing the ways we engage with our visitors and developing new welcome roles to help them make the most of their day out. As a Visitor Welcome Volunteer, you will work as part of a team to greet visitors at our welcome points across the property. You will provide an informative and cheerful welcome, find out what our visitors want and need, help with orientation and get them started on their journey. You can also welcome visitors to the showrooms, checking tickets and selling guidebooks.

At Knole, our volunteers make a real difference and it is a great way to make new friends, work in an incredible place and know that you're helping a great cause.
