The Hayloft Learning Centre offers a range of hands-on workshops, craft activities and heritage talks led by experts in their fields. This unique and versatile space provides activities tailored to families, schools and adult education in a stunning, historic setting.

Based in Knole’s beautifully restored 17th century hayloft, the Hayloft Learning Centre provides the perfect opportunity to develop a new hobby, learn a new skill or extend your knowledge.

Whether you want to try your hand at landscape painting, assemble stained glass to display in your home, try mixing your own perfume or listen to a specialist talk over canapés, the Hayloft offers exciting learning opportunities for all ages and abilities. All the workshops are inspired by Knole's rich history, medieval landscape and impressive collections.

Planning your visit

The Hayloft Learning Centre is based at Knole, a National Trust property in Sevenoaks, Kent. The satnav post code is TN13 1HU. It is located on the second floor of the Knole Conservation Studio and can be accessed via the Brewhouse Courtyard.

Ample parking is available at Knole and is free to workshop participants (please give your name at the gatebox). The nearest railway station is Sevenoaks, which is 1.5 miles away on the Southeastern line.

The Hayloft is wheelchair accessible (lift to the second floor and fully accessible toilet facilities) and parking for Blue Badge holders is available 60 yards from the main entrance.
