Alongside the art installations, A Woman's Place will include some special events where you can find out more about the artists' inspiration for the project and the unique stories of Knole's women.

A Woman's Place panel discussion // Saturday 1 September, 3-4.30pm

Project curators, artists and invited speakers will discuss the context and ideas for the works in A Woman’s Place at Knole at this panel discussion in the Hayloft Learning Centre. Tickets cost £7.50 per person. Ticketed event, booking essential.

Enjoy a picnic in Knole Park, Kent

Join us for a picnic // Saturday 1 September, 12.30-2pm

Join the curators of A Woman's Place, Lucy Day and Eliza Gluckman, for a picnic in Knole Park. Bring your own and share! Families are very welcome. Please meet by the outdoor picnic area next to the car park.

Lord Sackville’s stunning private walled garden at Knole is open to the public on Tuesdays, April to September.

Join a guided walk in the garden // Selected Tuesdays, Apr - Sep

Lord Sackville's garden is open to visitors every Tuesday, from April to September. Special walks this year focus on the women who have lived at Knole and contributed to its history, as well as celebrating the 90th anniversary of Orlando and Vita and Virginia's enduring love affair. Normal admission prices apply.

Experience Vita's love of gardens at the fountain in Knole's Orangery

Performing the toilette at Knole // Tuesday 7 August, 1.30-3.30pm

A performer will demonstrate the toilette – the ritual of dressing and preparing for the day – beside Emily Speed’s art installation in the Orangery. She will perform her maquillage (body make-up) to become part of the work and environment, until both architecture and inhabitants meld into the history of Knole. Normal admission prices apply.
