Winter at Lacock
As the crisp cold days draw in, the fires are lit and the atmosphere in the abbey turns decidedly cosy. Winter opening hours have begun at the abbey, and the courtyard coaxes you into its heart, with its warm tea-room serving tasty treats and hot drinks whilst the peaceful ground-floor monastic cloister of Lacock Abbey allows a moment of reflection and calm.
Embrace the season with a refreshing walk in our frosty winter gardens and grounds. Stroll through tranquil woodland landscapes glittering in the winter sun. Discover bright winter berries and late-flowering shrubs then cosy up in one of our tea-rooms with some delicious winter warmers.
Winter is the perfect time to wrap up warm, throw on some wellies and go for an invigorating walk in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. From scenic views and riverside strolls, to pleasant ambles through the abbey grounds or the village, we've put together a selection of routes to suit all ages and abilities, free to download from our website.
As well as enjoying delicious homemade food made using local ingredients, every cup of tea or tasty treat you buy helps us continue to look after Lacock Abbey for everyone to enjoy. Treacle tarts will begin to appear on the menu in our new Courtyard tea-room and from late november homemade mince pies will take centre stage.
