Eating in the outdoors
The Park Cafe is open for light takeaway snacks and drinks if you're peckish. If you prefer to eat al fresco and enjoy your lunch outdoors then pick up a sandwich or bring your own hamper filled with goodies and check out our picnic spots.
A family favourite
There are plenty of shady spots to choose from at Lanhydrock; go far enough into the parkland you can even tick 'Have a wild picnic' off your list of 50 things to do when you're 11 3/4! There's plenty of space for playing games and running around if you finish eating at different times. Or for a more sedate option, there are takeaway food options and toilet facilities at the hub.
Hampers too heavy to carry?
If you don’t want to walk far then there's a new picnic area next to the main car park.
Room to play
When you don't need a table but do want to have fun playing games then make your way further onto the parkland, where there's plenty of open space to throw a ball, make goal posts with jumpers, spread out your picnic rug and while away the afternoon.
Cows picnic too!
Be aware that cattle and sheep are in the parkland too at various times throughout the year. You are always welcome to bring your dog along for the day, but our four-pawed frineds must be kept on a lead when livestock are in the parkland. You can check the cattle calendar for livestock movement dates here.
Protect the parkland
We hope you enjoy your picnic here but please help us keep Lanhydrock lovely by taking away any rubbish.
