October half-term and Hallowe'en in Norfolk

We've got pumpkin patches, scary spiders, creaking staircases and secret doorways, just some of the ingredients you'll need for a spooky Hallowe'en adventure. From pumpkin carving and walks after dark (for those brave enough), to autumn crafts and bug hunts, here are some of our places you might like to visit with the family this October half-term.

Enjoy apple picking in Blickling's orchard.

Blickling, Norfolk

Blickling will be welcoming the autumnal season with open arms, hosting an abundance of seasonal events. From apple picking to choosing your special pumpkin, walking around the new trails lit with an autumnal glow or discovering the vast parkland the estate has to offer.

Elizabethan House Museum, Norfolk

Discover a time of witches. Where the simplest suspicion could turn into a witch hunt, hear tales of real life toil as well as those that could come straight from a fairy tale. Create your own familiar fiend just in time for Hallows eve at the Elizabethan House Museum.

Trevor shares his bird watching skills at Felbrigg Estate, Norfolk

Felbrigg Hall, Norfolk

Autumn is a great time to visit Felbrigg. If you enjoy walking, the Victoria V walk is stunning throughout October, with falling leaves and gerogeous autumnal colours; the perfect opportunity to catch a falling leaf or explore inside a tree. It’s also a great spot to go birdwatch with the family, particularly down by the lake.

Crabs are one of the creatures you might find in a rockpool

Norfolk Coast

Come and enjoy autumn on the coast this October half-term. As well as our organised Terrific Tuesdays and Wild Wednesdays, you can enjoy a spot of blackberry picking, star gazing and birdwatching – as there will be lots of autumn migrants around.

Children den building

Oxburgh Hall, Norfolk

During the autumn, why not bring the family for a woodland walk at Oxburgh Hall? Along the way you'll be able to challenge each other to pooh sticks in the River Gadder, go den building in Home Covert or see what bugs are currently calling our bug hotel home.

Conker crafts

Sheringham Park, Norfolk

As well as Sheringham Park's 50 things events, which run throughout October halt-term, join us as we go on bat walks, a spider safari, enjoy wild afternoon tea or take part in the daily quiz trail.
