A Victorian Christmas

This year the ground floor rooms of the house will be decorated for a Victorian Christmas, inspired by the diaries of resident Jinny Townsend. There'll be beautifully decorated Christmas trees, displays of festive food and gifts and a fun Christmas trail for children.

Conservation-in-action at Mompesson House

Upstairs, you'll be able to peep through doorways to see how rooms have been 'put to bed' for the winter. There'll be conservation-in-action too as our Conservation Assistants will be cleaning the precious Turnbull glass collection every Thursday between 11.30am and 3pm.

Eat and shop

You can treat yourself to delicious mince pies and mulled wine in the garden tea-room and find gifts for family and friends in the Studio shop.

Opening times

The house, tea-room and shop will be open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Saturday 23 November to Sunday 22 December between 11am and 3.30pm. Last entry will be at 3pm. Normal admission charges apply. National Trust members visit free.

Access to the garden will be limited. For your safety most of the paths will be closed as they can get very slippery in the winter months. The lawn will also be roped off to help it recover after the hot weather this year.
