Volunteer at Mompesson House
Volunteers have always been at the heart of the work of the National Trust in caring for nature, beauty and history and we are really grateful for your interest in volunteering with us. The impact of the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) on the National Trust resulted in the closure of our places, and now our attention is turning to re-opening safely for staff, volunteers and visitors. When we're ready to involve new volunteers, we'll promote volunteering opportunities here on our website. Hopefully we'll have a volunteering role that will be just right for you.
Volunteering at Mompesson House
Room guides help visitors to enjoy and learn more about Mompesson House; answering questions and sharing stories about the house, its history and wonderful collections. They play a key role in making visitors feel really welcome and add to their experience of the whole property.
What's involved in room guiding?
There are different volunteer sessions available.
All day (preferred) 10.45am-5pm
You'll get a 30 minute break in the morning and a 30 minute break in the afternoon.
No experience is necessary. You'll learn on the job with the help of information that is available about the house and its collections and by talking to other volunteers. If you enjoy meeting people and are friendly and enthusiastic this is the role for you.
You can read more about the role here:
" Mompesson House is a beautiful place and volunteering is a lovely way to be part of its heritage. It is a pleasure to help visitors enjoy the house. There is always something new to learn about its history and often visitors add to our knowledge too. The other volunteers are friendly, knowledgeable and good fun. "
