As autumn creates its mosaic of colour across the garden, now is the time to wrap up warm and enjoy heaps of family fun Powis Castle.

From spotting willow animals hidden around the garden and playing hide and seek with your family, to taking autumnal photos through rustic picture frames and following our autumnal sensory trail - dust off those wellies and see how many family fun activities you can complete at Powis this October half term.

Hunt high and low

Hunt along the terraces and in the shadow of historic trees to find willow sculptures of some of the animals who make Powis their home. From pheasants to hedgehogs, spiders to squirrels, how many will you and your family find?

Explore autumn

With evenings drawing in there’s no better time to discover all the natural beauty around us, so step into autumn and complete the activities suggested on our sensory boards located throughout the garden.

Listen carefully; what birds can you hear in our woodland? Search the tree canopy; how many autumn colours can you spot? Stamp your feet; can you feel the leaves crunching beneath you? Go on a scavenger hunt; what interesting things can you find hidden in the undergrowth?

We’ve got a whole host of self-led family autumn activities to help you explore the changing seasons.

Take a family selfie

Find the rustic picture frames located around the garden and take a picture of some of our favourite autumn scenes, or why not gather your loved ones and pose together. We’d love you to share your images with us on our social media pages.
