Hunting for Infection at Quarry Bank

Family visitors spotting wildlife in the garden at Quarry Bank

At Quarry Bank we are looking at Exotic Guests and Alien Invaders, join us at half-term to find out more about the gruesome parasites which invaded the pauper children who worked at the Mill in our fun, family focused Apprentice House tours. Families can use special torches to hunt for the areas where infection might have once occurred.

In the Apprentice House Garden

Take part in the most unusual egg hunt we've ever done at Quarry Bank as you search for parasite eggs in the Apprentice House garden on our parasite trail.

Plants are also at risk from infections and invasive species. Learn how fast these can spread through the environment, how we can use mathematics to stop them in their tracks, and enjoy the chance to battle each other as we pit invasive species against surveillance teams.

Hallowe'en Weekend

It's spooky fun for families at Quarry Bank on Hallowe'en weekend, enjoy a special story telling session in the Apprentice House or in the Mill, have fun making bats in our family craft activity, before following the spider webs on the Halloween trail (£1 per trail).  These activities will take place on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October.
