Pack your bags for an adventure as you discover the incredible journeys made by the people of Quarry Bank. Taking inspiration from the diaries, letters and photographs in the archive, we’re recreating, rewriting and reinventing incredible journeys made to and from Quarry Bank. From 5 May to 28 October 2018, follow an interactive trail and come along to themed events where you can take a journey into the past and your own imagination.

Journeys of the Imagination takes you on an interactive trail around Quarry Bank to discover six stories. On the trail you can travel to India with Elizabeth Mary Greg as she follows her dream of being an explorer, hide from the mill overlookers with runaway apprentice William Tittensor, and journey through Spain and Portugal with Robert Hyde Greg. Over the summer holidays, there’ll be even more adventures with crafts and games to try your hand at (Quarry Bank admission charges apply).

Summer holidays: exploring with elephants / 23 July – 3 August (weekdays), 11am – 4pm 

Meet Elizabeth Mary Greg on her travels in India. Find out all about her love of photography, and have a go at making your very own Victorian camera. What's the view you'd most like to take a photo of on holiday?

Summer holidays: adventuring in the Americas / 6 – 17 August (weekdays), 11am – 4pm 

Travel with Edward Hyde Greg on his eccentric adventures in the Americas. Make an origami alligator and take part in a giant game of 'mosquito mania'. Can you spot both the alligators hiding near Edward Hyde's canoe in the garden?

Summer holidays: moving to the mill / 20 – 31 August (weekdays, except Bank Holiday Monday), 11am – 4pm 

During the Industrial Revolution, lots of people migrated north in search of work. Journey along the canal with Rebekah Steevens and her family as they travel to Quarry Bank. You can even have a go at making your own boat.
