The Denney Edition: celebrating an icon of 20th century style, is an innovative exhibition celebrating the life and career of Vogue photographer, designer, and former Rainham Hall resident, Anthony Denney.
In partnership with creative company The Decorators, and a host of designers and local craftspeople, the Hall has been transformed into a ‘living magazine’ to showcase Denney’s life and work. Exhibits include objects and photographs from Denney’s personal life, with spaces representing themes of fashion, jewellery, arts, interiors, food, gardening, and travel.

Anthony Denney is perhaps Rainham Hall's most glamorous former resident. An influential photographer, interior designer, and socialite, he lived at the Hall from 1964 to 1969. Find out more about Denney's life and influence here.

Community Makers
Community participation is central to all our exhibitions, ensuring a minimum of 60% of all exhibits are created in partnership with local makers and groups. In The Denney Edition, the third Hall exhibition since opening to the public in 2015, around 80% of the exhibits are by local artists, schools, and colleges.

Denney's Garden
Venture out into the three-acre Garden to see more of the Denney Edition, including Japanese Raku-inspired sculptures on the lawer lawn. Following a community photography competition in 2019, over 100 entries were whittled down to 12 winners and curated for an outdoor exhibition in the woodland bosquet.
