Autumn adventures for families at Sheffield Park

A family sit and admire the autumn colour

This autumn, spend the day outdoors at Sheffield Park taking in the changing season and the stunning reds, oranges, greens and purples of the autumn colours.

In order to control numbers and make everyone's visit more enjoyable advance bookings are required during our busy autumn period from 13 September to 14 November.

Book your autumn visit

During our busy autumn season, you will need to book to visit Sheffield Park and Garden. Bookings will be available from Monday 13th September to Sunday 14th November. If you do not book in advance we may not be able to accommodate your visit.

Enjoy a stroll round the beautiful gardens or a charge down to Ringwood Toll, our natural play area, for a spot of den building or an adventure on our new Orienteering Trail, in partnership with the National Lottery Heritage Fund and British Orienteering. When hunger calls, head to the Coach House café or pick-up a snack from The Shant, our garden takeaway spot tucked away near the lakes.

Animals in Autumn Family Trail

Enjoy a stroll around the gardens with our Animals in Autumn Family Trail. Discover what animals like to eat in this bountiful harvest month or take a moment to notice how the landscape is changing with the seasons and think about how animals adapt during this time. Learn about a different animal at each stop and take part in family friendly activities - can you manage to spot the secretive dormouse or guess which footprint the friendly fox has left behind?

Time to explore

Our new orienteering trail, in partnership with the National Lottery Heritage Fund and British Orienteering, is now installed on the parkland. Starting from the 'Green Man' gate at Ringwood Toll, the two routes take you either around Ringwood Toll itself or down to the river and bridges. Will you manage to find all ten markers?
