Nymans Flora Summer 2021

As we move from spring into summer we continue our journey following the changing flora of the river banks. Moving forward from the neutral tones and harmonious colours of the spring collection, our summer designs celebrate the change in season with larger scale prints and bright pops of pink, yellow and orange.

Our summer prints were created with expressive mark making and bold colours to reflect the lush river flora and wildlife in the height of summer. Choose candles and reed diffusers with vibrant scents of petitgrain, orange blossom and sandleood or a reversable linen front cushion with a teal cotton backing featuring an embroidered dragonfly. Scarves feature the same designs as well as some in similar colour palettes. Team them with a summer hat or a handmade wooden necklace in a complimentary tone.

Sissinghurst The Dream Garden by Tim Richardson

In the most up to date book currently available about this iconic garden Tim Richardson takes the reader on a tour, offering a comprehensive guide and exploring its design, planting and history. Detailed plans pinpoint the locations of individual roses in both the Rose garden and the White Garden as well as a chapter on the newly restored Delos Garden created by Dan Pearson. Tim also explains for the first time how literature and specifically Vita’s intimate friendship with Virginia Woolf influenced the creation of the garden’s unique atmosphere.

This is a once in a generation exploration of a magnificent, iconic garden – its history, its meaning and its relevance to visitors and gardeners today.

The National Trust School of Gardening by Rebecca Bevan

The National Trust cares for hundreds of beautiful gardens of every imaginable shape and size across Britain, from the internationally renowned and the grandest country estates to the smallest cottage gardens. Written by expert gardener Rebecca Bevan, with the help of National Trust gardeners, it offers clear and practical advice for garden development. From herbaceous borders and bountiful bedding to sustainable gardening, each chapter provides snippets of 300 years of horticultural history, examples of best practice from National Trust gardens, and unique gems of wisdom.

This book is packed with stunning images of a multitude of gardens to inspire both keen novices and experienced amateurs. All the topics covered are easily applicable to private gardens, helping to enrich even the tiniest of urban spaces.
