Winter opening: November weekends

A set of carriage bells used by Charles Wade as a door bell.

Snowshill Manor and Garden is open every weekend in November from 10.30am – 3.30pm.

As the days shortened and the temperatures dropped, Charles Wade would close up Snowshill Manor and head off to enjoy the warmer climes of the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. In the Manor today, the Conservation Team follow in Charles Wade’s tradition and have begun the process of putting the house to bed. But this is not a time for sleeping. Over the winter months the team will be hard at work.

During the weekends in November you will be able to not only find out more about the work that takes place once the property closes, but also listen as actor John Bassett, in the guise of Charles Wade, warms you with tales Charles Wade’s winter home.

Outside the garden team are busy preparing for winter by planting spring bulbs and harvesting the last of the kitchen garden vegetables and apples. Winter in the garden is the perfect time to enjoy the architecture of the terraces and to take in the beautiful views across the Vale of Evesham.
