Swashbuckling summer fun at Snowshill
We invite you to get your best pirate impressions at the ready for our swashbuckling pirate summer here at Snowshilll Manor
Snowshill Manor is embracing the villains of the seas this summer with lots of pirate-themed activities.
Inspired by 2016's Treasure Island weekend, the team at Snowshill has decided to spread the fun across the school summer holidays.
Young explorers can follow a new treasure-seeking trail around the Manor house with lots of clues and a beautiful map to help you on your way.
You'll need to book a timed ticket on arrival to enter the Manor, which is open from 12-4pm. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis.
Snowshill founder Charles Wade called collecting ‘treasure seeking’ when he was finding items for his growing collection of craftsmanship.
"You can envisage that as a young boy the exciting story would spark all sorts of imagination," said Snowshill's Conservation & Engagement Assistant Harriet Groves.
"We have recently found more references to Treasure Island in our model village, Wolf’s Cove. Buildings and figures have been named after characters and places in the book.
"Mr Wade also had a particular fondness for dressing up so we would love to see as many visitors as possible in pirate costumes!"
We're planning some storytelling sessions too, please see the what's on section for details.
