We need you - volunteering at Snowshill Manor

Volunteering at Snowshill is a great way to meet people and make a difference

Here at Snowshill, we rely on a brilliant team of volunteers to help us share the story of the house and its extensive collection.

Snowshill Manor has a dedicated team of volunteers which helps ensure we can keep the Manor house open throughout the week.

This might range from learning about the collection and telling our stories to welcoming visitors or getting hands-on in the tea-room. Every team needs volunteers so there will be activities for everyone – all you need is a friendly smile and a desire to help our visitors have a lovely day.

Donating your time

Snowshill's Marketing & Communications Officer Gosia Rumsey said: "We really don't like having to limit visits to the house, but we simply can't open it every day unless we get more regular volunteers to help cover the rooms.

"We're hugely grateful to the existing volunteers who work hard to ensure we can open the rest of the week, but Tuesdays are proving particilarly tricky to fill. We'd love to hear from anyone interested in helping out and donating some regular time to help us share the story of Snowshill Manor."

Love what you do

"There are so many interesting stories from this house," said volunteer Marjorie. "I love working here - I'm learning all the time and get to meet some brilliant people."

Gosia added: "Volunteering with us is a great way to learn new skills; use existing skills; gain experience for CV’s and career changes; ‘give back’; meet new people; be part of a team; do something you enjoy; explore hobbies; be with likeminded people; meet different types of people; do something ‘different’; spend time in a beautiful, interesting and unique setting."
