Enchanted Speke: Hansel and Gretel

A spooky young visitor at Halloween half term

The next chapter of Enchanted Speke unfolds from 21 October - 5 November. Join us for a magical half term to explore the eerie woodland, solve the trail and see if you can spot the witch...

This October half term will be the final chapter of Enchanted Speke for 2017 and things are getting spooky with the tale of Hansel, Gretel and their battles with the Wicked Witch.

The fairytale fun on offer will include two different trails: venture inside the Hall with a sweet tooth and follow Gretel's trail of sweet treats around the Hall to find your way out, then explore the grounds with a sharp eye to spot the trail of hidden breadcrumb stones that Hansel has left to mark the way to the Wicked Witch's cottage.

The Wicked Witch has also set a series of sporty challenges in the grounds. Will you be triumphant in the Sweet and Spoon race or win the Sweetie Wrapper bag race before the witch catches you?

You can also discover the tale of little Hansel and Gretel and how their sweet tooth led them into the dangerous path of the Wicked Witch in the first place during storytelling sessions, or try out Candy Crafts. The Wicked Witch may even make an appearance herself on some days to show you her favourite wicked recipes.

Please note that normal admission prices apply (free for NT members and children under 5) and that events and activities will take place on selected dates. A full timetable of what's on when is available here. While we'll do our best to stick to the advertised timetable, we reserve the right to cancel or amend sessions.
