Explore the Childe of Hale trail

Begin a woodland adventure with our sculptured play trail, based on the local legend of John Middleton who was supposedly 9'3" tall and slept with his feet sticking out of his bedroom window in nearby Hale village. Will you spot him on your way around? Look out for giant buttons, optical illusions and some larger-than-life vegetable musical instruments that you can play. This trail is suitable for all ages and pram-friendly.

Enjoy our play areas

We're delighted to reopen our formal play area and woodland play area for families to enjoy from 24 October. Rediscover your little ones' favourite place to run wild and play to their heart's content. Please note that the hedge maze remains closed as we have to consider the limited space to maintain social distancing. The zip wire in the woodland play area also remains closed.
