We're open! The New Year brings new adventures at Sudbury
It's the start of a New Year which brings new beginnings and exciting adventures around every corner. We're opening our doors every weekend (Friday - Monday) throughout January.
Help brush off those winter blues with an adventure to Sudbury before the half term crowds descend. It’s the perfect time for a quiet stroll by the lake or get cosy in the tea-room with a hot drink and a slice of something tasty.
Winter is a time of quiet calm here at Sudbury... at least on the outside! It's a great time to avoid the crowds and enjoy wildlife spotting down by the lake, but inside it's a hive of winter conservation activity.
Family outdoor adventure
If you're visiting with the little ones make sure you pick up a free copy of the 50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾ booklet and explore the grounds to see how many activities you can tick off. Climb a tree, hunt for bugs and see how many birds you can spot along the lake. There’s plenty of space to burn off some energy in the gardens and explore in the woodland play area. If you have some energy left then our Winter Activity booklet is available from the gift shop and features all the best things to see and do around Sudbury including wildlife activities, recipes, colouring and puzzles.
Spring collection in the shop
Our spring plants and bulbs will soon be arriving and our new season stock has everything you need to get your garden flower ready. Perhaps you're looking for some inspiration with one of our many gardening books or possibly just a good story to go with your cuppa. You'll find all sorts of great reads and hand-made gifts in our second-hand bookshop.
Get the kettle on
Our Coach house tea-room is open and serving fresh cakes, bakes and hearty lunches during the winter season. Whether you've been exploring the Hall or the grounds, warming yourself by the log-burner with a hot drink and something sweet is a perfect way to round off your visit.
