Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt at Sutton Hoo
Get out into nature with a Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt this Easter at Sutton Hoo!
Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt
Come and help Bunny collect the colours on a walk through history and nature, throughout the Easter holidays.
Explore the woods and around the ancient burial mounds, decode the runes and unscrabble the answer to reveal the colours and win a yummy Cadbury's chocolate treat at the end.
Where better to celebrate this Ēosturmōnaþ – month of Easter - than this special Anglo-Saxon place.
Hunts will be £2.50 per person (inc. NT members). Normal site admission applies.
Spring is a fantastic time for getting out and about and exploring nature as it reawakens. Why not tick off some of the '50 Things to do' activites at Sutton Hoo this Easter? Here are some of our favourites:
25. Make a grass trumpet
Pick a thick piece of grass and sandwich it between your two thumbs... Now blow!
28. Climb a huge hill
Ok, so Sutton Hoo doesn't have any mountains - but imagine every hill is one! Climb to the top and enjoy the view.
31. Hunt for bugs
At first the Royal Burial Grounds seem quite quiet, but if you look carefully they're teeming with life! See if you can find any bugs on your way around. Make sure to put anything back from where you picked them up.
34. Track wild animals
The sandy soil is great for spotting animal tracks - what can you see?
Nature Colour Trail
Monday 9 - Sunday 15 April
Join us for a Nature Colour Trail exploring the Sutton Hoo landscape. Anglo-Saxons had a close relationship with nature and worked with it to bring natural colours to every aspect of their lives. Follow the trail and find the hidden answers to win a sticker!
Suggested donation of £1 per trail.
