Could you capture the essence of the Old Post Office in an image?

The third in-house photography competition runs throughout the season and is a great way to practice and improve your snapping skills.

This year's theme is 'essence of the Old Post Office' and we are looking for submissions that capture the spirit of the house and/or its grounds.

Entry is free and you may submit as many photos as you like. To enter, please email your images to: tintageloldpo@nationaltrust.org.uk for a chance of winning a Tintagel Old Post Office-themed prize.

All entries will be consiered and any style, technique or camera is allowed so long as it is not to the detriment of the collections. For such reasons, we ask that you please don't use a flash when taking your photos as this causes prints and paintings to fade and ask you to not use a tripid on the delicate wooden floors.

The best submissions will form a shortlist that will then be on display in the hall 10-17 October with the overall winner, second and third places decided by visitors voting.

Should you come first, second or third, we will post your prize to you free of charge.

Our terms and conditions are as follows:

  • Photographs must predominantly feature the house, its collection and/or gardens. Photographs including people will require further, written approval before they can be included.
  • You are an amateur photographer or a professional who will not be using images taken within or of the property as part of your portfolio or for commercial gain.
  • The National Trust will endeavour to credit you when applicable.
  • Should your image be selected for the shortlist, you are happy for your image to be displayed and mounted in a manner deemed fit by the Tintagel Old Post Office team.
  • Should you be selected as a top-three finalist, you are happy to share your address  confidentially with the house team and to be contacted regarding the delivery of your prize.
  • Flash photography is not permittied nor are tripods on the wooden floorboards.
  • The overall decision of the public voters and house staff is final.
