February half-term fun at Trengwainton

Children exploring in wellies at Trengwainton Garden, Cornwall

When Trengwainton opens its gates again for the 2019 season on Sunday 17 February there’ll be the chance to get active with a fun fitness trail, be creative with some seed planting and generally shake off the winter blues with welly walking and plant spotting.

Feb fun fitness trail

We've some light-hearted inspiration for your New Year's fitness resolutions with a fun fitness trail around the garden. Stop at various points and see if you can do the hula hoop, skip, throw a pine cone 'ball' or other activity challenges.

Plant it, grow it, eat it

How about ‘growing your own' with free seed planting? Pop along to the orchard and pot up some seeds, make your own personalised label topper, then take them home and watch them grow. It’s one of the 50 things to do before you're 11¾.

50 things

Rain showers help to make the garden lush and green, so instead of hiding from them you could pop on a rain mac and tick off No.6 of your 50 things by running around in the rain.

There’s also No.31 to try as you hunt for bugs.

Welly walking

The garden’s waking up after its winter sleep so it’s a great time to wrap up warm, pop on some wellies and have an adventure exploring winding wooded paths, crossing bridges and streams and discovering what plants are stirring first.

If you grab a plant spotter sheet from the reception you can see how many you can tick off.
