February half-term fun at Trengwainton

Children exploring in wellies at Trengwainton Garden, Cornwall

February half-term fun starts on Sunday 16 February when there’ll be the chance to get active with a fun fitness trail, pot up some seeds and generally shake off the winter blues with welly walking and plant hunting.

Feb fun fitness trail

Find some light-hearted inspiration for your New Year's resolutions with a fun, nature-inspired fitness trail. Stop at various points around the garden and see if you can do the bunny hop, waterless doggy paddle, seagull stretch or other challenges.

Seed planting

In the spirit of the great Plant Hunters who introduced exotic plants to this garden, pop along to the orchard and you’ll be able to grow some of your own. We’ve free seed planting to grow butterfly and bee friendly flowers to take home.

50 things to do before you’re 11¾

As well as helping nature’s vital pollinators with seed planting, this will also count as no.41 of your 50 things to do before you're 11¾.

Why not bring a friend and go on a nature adventure around the garden? (no.50). If you pop on a pair of wellies you’ve also got no.6 covered (Go welly wandering). Discover what’s in a pond at this time of year (no.35) or watch the wintery clouds go whizzing by on the Terrace (no.33).

Plant hunting

The garden will be waking up after its winter sleep so it’s a great time to wrap up warm and explore winding wooded paths, cross bridges and streams and discover what plants are stirring first. Pick up a Plant Hunting sheet from the reception to see how many you can tick off.
