Discover a selection of pre-loved books in our bookshop inside the café.
Dogs allowed
Well-controlled dogs are welcome. Please keep dogs on leads where livestock are grazing.
Café
Serving home-made cakes, snacks, light lunches and a selection of hot and cold drinks. Seating inside and outside.
Kiosk
The servery serves hot and cold drinks, breakfast baps, sandwiches and cakes and bakes.
Car park
Main car park: Free for NT members. Paybyphone - area code 803448 (0330 060 4037) £2 for first hour; £4 for up to 2 hours; £6 for up to 4 hours; £9 for 4 hours plus. Coaches £12. Old Fort car park code: 803449. Box Hill East car park code: 803450. Tickets can also be purchased on site. Stepping Stone car park Free to NT members or Paybyphone - 803451.
Toilet
Toilets are located in the main car park near the café.
Steep pathways with steps and uneven surfaces – level at summit of hill. Blue Badge parking. Accessible toilets. All-terrain push wheelchair available to book.
Accessible route and/or map
Accessible paths including a route through the woods to oustanding views. Many paths are not accessible due to uneven or very steep terrain.

Located in the main car park, near the café. There are no hoist facilities available.

Designated parking
Parking for Blue Badge holders is available in our main car park, near the Shepherd’s Hut information stand and also in the small Fort car park to the rear of the buildings. These spaces are larger and lead via flat surfaces to our facilities.
Wheelchairs available
A Mountain Trike all-terrain push wheelchair (MTpush – www.mountaintrike.co.uk ) can be borrowed free of charge. To find out if our facilities and chair are suitable for your needs, and reserve, please email: boxhill@nationaltrust.org.uk. Weight restrictions: 17st/100kg. Chair user must be accompanied by attendant wearing appropriate sturdy footwear.

By road
From Junction 9 of the M25: follow the A243 (signed A24 Epsom, Dorking and Leatherhead), before taking the A24 towards Dorking for 4 miles. At the bottom of the hill, turn left on the roundabout on to the B2209, then right on to the Zig Zag Road* to the summit of Box Hill. *Not suitable for large vehicles. Coaches please approach from east, B2032/B2033.
Parking: Pay and display at all car parks. Download the PayByPhone app before arrival. 1 hour (£2). 2 hours (£4). 4 hours (£6). All day (£9). National Trust members park for free. No overnight parking or camping.
On foot
1 mile of North Downs Way from Stepping Stones to South Scarp; 1 mile of Thames Down link footpath at Mickleham Downs; 0.5 mile from Dorking station or Box Hill and West Humble train stations. Many rights of way lead to Box Hill summit.
By train
Box Hill and Westhumble station 0.5 miles. Dorking 0.5 miles. Leatherhead 5 miles.
By bus
Metrobus 21 Epsom, Leatherhead, Dorking and Crawley to Box Hill east car park (not Sundays or Bank Hols); Arriva 465 Kingston to Dorking to foot of Box Hill, 0.75 miles to summit.
By bicycle
