The Wentworth Castle estate was created for the privileged few. It stood as a symbol of power and influence in the 18th century. But in the 1940s, everything changed.

Union Jack Garden Project  

Starting in September 2021, we are inviting local communities to actively contribute to the restoration and development of the Union Jack Garden.

Summer at Wentworth Castle Gardens

Stainborough Castle Project 

Specialist work to keep Stainborough Castle safe and standing, was completed in June 2021. Funded by Barnsley Council, this is part of a programme of ongoing works to improve the condition of the site.
