Eating at Wray Castle
Run by local foodies from Joey's Cafe, our café sits where the original kitchen courtyard once stood.
Please note the cafe is currently open Wednesday - Sunday (and May Bank Holiday Monday), 10am-4pm, serving takeaway hot and cold drinks and cakes. It's running from a Pop-Up Cabin for now, outside the Castle building.
A local partnership
Our café is run by local tenants from Joey's Cafe, who also run The Cafe in the Courtyard at another of our places just down the road; Claife Viewing Station and the Pop-Up Cabin in the orchard at Hill Top. They're keen to bake all offerings fresh on site and have a full time chef who prepares their special cakes and bakes.
A percentage of the sales from our café goes towards maintaining the Wray estate, so consider that extra slice of cake to be guilt free!
A perfect pit stop
The café's location means that it's now a convenient pit stop if you're walking or cycling along Windermere's west shore. It's positioned towards the back of the castle, near the outdoor loos, so you don't need to enter the castle to refuel.
