Get closer to nature at Wray Castle

Our activities in the castle grounds will inspire you and the family to get outdoors and back to nature this autumn.

Craft a woodland crown

Search for autumn leaves, pine cones and anything else you can find in the grounds to decorate your willow crown, fit for a woodland king or queen. Everyday in October, 10am - 4pm.

Bulb planting

The whole family can get stuck in helping us to create carpets of colour for spring 2018 and beyond, by planting bulbs in the grounds of Wray Castle. From Saturday 21 October until 29 October, plus every weekend in November, 10am - 3pm.

A circular walk from the castle

Wray Castle has lovely grounds but if you'd like get out and enjoy the surrounding countryside then we have put together a circular trail from the castle to Blelham Tarn. This lovely low-level walk has classic Lake District views of the mountains warm with colour at this time of your. See trail below.
