Discover the House

Open daily from 11.03am

This autumn we’re inviting you to explore nature in the collections. With over 10,000 objects to furnish his home at Anglesey Abbey, Lord Fairhaven built his collection out of many different materials found in nature, including wood, leather and precious stones.

Journey through the house, with each space highlighting a different material, and learn more about the methods that our conservation team use care for them, including monitoring and preventative conservation.

Autumn House

Discover the House at Anglesey Abbey 

This Christmas immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and smells of Thanksgiving and Christmas in a country home. Discover the contrast between a classy Christmas full of vintage glamour, and halls decked with tacky tinsel, brightly coloured decorations and lights.

Jump into history inside Lode Mill

Open daily through half term 10.30am - 3.30pm

Take a tour of historic Lode Mill. Watch as the giant waterwheel turns the millstones to produce lovely wholesome wholemeal flour.

Climb to the top and watch the journey from grain to flour as it travels downwards through the fascinating building. 

Why not buy a bag of flour fresh from the chute and bake a tasty treat for your family? There's a selection of traditional recipes in the mill to help get you started.

Lode Mill in Autumn

Anglesey Abbey Lode Mill 

Centuries old, Lode Mill is a watermill that was restored to perfect working order. Today, you can see how our team of millers turn grain into fresh wholemeal flour. Click here to find out the fascinating history of Lode Mill.

Eating with little ones

Eating with your little ones has never been easier. We have a children's lunchbox offer which include any five items marked with a bumble bee in the fridges. Hot food is served from 11.30am to 2.30pm, meaning you can top up after a mornings adventure, and a selection of our dishes can be served as a half portion - perfect for the younger members of the family! We also offer takeaway cups for any of our hot drinks, so grab a cuppa and head out for a day of exploration!

Mobiloo at Anglesey Abbey 

We're really excited to announce that Mobiloo, a fully accessible changing place, will be joining us for our festive celebrations (including Winter Lights) on 6 and 8 December. Find them in the car park from 9.30am to 9pm.
