Help us save Baddesley's books
Last year’s £10,000 winning Special Places Raffle ticket was purchased right here at Baddesley Clinton! Congratulations to our lucky visitor, and thanks for helping us to build our new cold frames in the vegetable garden.
This year our raffle money is going towards the restoration of those books in the greatest need of help.
Here at Baddesley Clinton, we have a wonderful library with 2500 books on display and another 1000 in storage. Our oldest book dates from 1565 and topics range from Catholic history to gardening.
Sadly, many of our books are in a sorry state and in need of repair. Depending on the work required, each book will cost between £200-£450 to repair. This can include repairing tears and missing leather, resewing and attaching detached leaves (pages) and repairing the spine.
Raffle tickets can be purchased at Baddesley Clinton for £1 and the National Trust will double the amount of money we raise, so please buy a ticket and help us to preserve these historic documents. Who knows, maybe the £10,000 prize will come back to Baddesley again this year!
