Summer wildlife at Baddesley

Baddesley is home to many ducks

There are over 150 acres of land at Baddesley for you to explore with a variety of habitats, so you should be able to spot plenty of wildlife as you wander round the estate.

We have open farmland and dense woodland, lakes and ponds, which are home to a rich variety of wildlife from ducks to deer!

As the weather gets warmer, beautiful butterflies can be seen fluttering through the gardens and buzzing bumblebees hope from flower to flower collecting nectar as they go.

The swallows are also starting to return to Baddesley, scoping out the gatehouse and making their nests above the door ready to lay their eggs. You can see them whizzing in and out of the courtyard while you wait to enter the house.

If you take a stroll across the fields during the spring and summer months, you are bound to come across some of the sheep which are looked after by our tenant farmer. They're not exactly wildlife, but they're certainly amongst our resident animals!

Baddesley Clinton is well known for its resident ducks; although watch where you sit to eat your sandwiches as they have quite an appetite! If you’re lucky you’ll see the green flash of a dragonfly or a frog hopping by in the long grass.
